Carlsberg South West Peninsula East division one
Liverton United 1
Okehampton Argyle 4
OKEHAMPTON produced a super all round team performance to brush aside basement neighbours Liverton United.
Argyle took a deserved lead after 15 minutes through an unlikely source, Alex Wren's speculative 35 yard shot flew over the head of Liverton's hapless goalkeeper.
The home side had their best spell of the game after the opening goal and had to thank a great defensive display and also one spectacular save by Harry Geering. All their heroics made sure that Argyle went into the interval one goal to the good.
The second half was as good as it gets when it comes to a team effort by the visitors.
Every time Okehampton received the ball they looked like creating a goal scoring opportunity. Luke Alden rounded the home side's keeper to produce the second goal of the afternoon, following a fine pass by Toby Gostling.
Ed Bradshaw scored Argyle's third goal of the game; his deft one touch and cool finish would have graced any game. Okehampton were now rampant with everyone trying their luck. Crimmins, Alden and Gostling all had fine efforts hit the woodwork or saved, but it was a thunderous free kick from captain Chadwick which gave the away side their final goal of the match.
Liverton bagged a goal back with ten remaining, but this one blip was not going to take any limelight away from this stunning away day performance by Argyle.
The Argyle 200 club winner for January 26 was K Williams, ticket number 7, £25; February 2, E Wright, no 65, £25.
