TAVISTOCK Athletic Club celebrated the achievements of two of its rising junior stars – U17 Sam Lane De Courtin and U13 Sian Temple — by making them 'Athletes of the Month.'

Sam has recently represented his county in the Inter-counties Cross Country Championship in Birmingham, and previously had excelled in the South of England Cross Country Championships over a muddy 6km course at Parliament Hill Fields, London, finishing in 39th place out of a field of more than 150.

At the same event in Birmingham, Sian, who has been a member of TAC for just over six months, finished in 27th place out of a field of 160 and came 50th out of 333 best young endurance athletes at Catton Hall in Derbyshire.

Just one day later she became overall champion in her age-group in the Brooks Westward Cross-Country series which held its final event in Central Park, Plymouth last month.

Both Sam and Sian are exciting young athletes among many at Tavistock AC, exhibiting hard-working ethics in both training and competitive racing.
