CALLINGTON College students were challenged to take part in at least five hours of physical activity in a week as part of National School Sport Week recently.
National School Sport Week is a celebration of PE and sport with millions of young people and tens of thousands of primary and secondary schools having taken part in the week since it began in 2008.
This year the promotional campaign was 'Give me 5' and Callington College challenged students to do at least five hours of physical activity throughout the school week, taking part in PE lessons, active break times and after school clubs, with the opportunity to win a piece of sporting equipment for themselves for the most effort in those five hours.
National School Sport Week took place from June 22 to 26 and students from Callington took part in a range of sporting activities that differed from the activities they usually play, to mark the week.
The activities included American football, Aussie rules, ultimate frisbee, goalball, giant shuttle ball, sitting volleyball, skipping challenges, cheerleading and rebounder on mini trampolines.
