BACON and sausage baps, cake, tea and coffee and a good chat with friends old and new made for an enjoyable event at the Lifton Late Breakfast.
The church hall was packed with local groups, including the history group , the WI and cottage garden society. The reading group ran a book stall and the art group put on a display of their work. Pre-school children also produced some creative artwork.
Much interest was generated by the community hall stand, with people viewing the plans and model of the proposed hall. Trustees were on hand to answer questions. Lifton parish councillors were kept busy answering queries at their table laden with leaflets on a variety of topics. West Devon Connect had a presence with a representative from the library service and the personal alarm monitoring service.
Lifton Scouts with other young people helped in clearing tables , washing up and selling raffle tickets.
Thanks were expressed to the kitchen team who worked hard and produced such good food, and to the parish church of St Mary for their hospitality and the use of the hall.
The Late Breakfast raised £400 for the proposed new community hall funds.
