Bodmin Trophies Duchy

division 1

Bere Alston Utd 10

Fowey Town 5

BERE?s benevolent defence made a game of it by continually giving Fowey a lifeline.

Bere settled quickly and Will Westlake soon scored two trade mark rasping goals.

Fowey were awarded a penalty for a needless handball to score, but Bere responded with a classy goal ? Craig Howells played to Ross Hann who sent it through to Steve Vanstone. A slide-rule pass to Rob Hawkins led to him beating his defender to score.

Bere continued to press in the second half and Steve Daymond scored a stunning goal. The ball broke to him and he chipped it over one defender, then another to score.

Bere gave away two goals in five minutes, another needless penalty for hand ball and a goal a ten-foot keeper would not have saved.

Bere responded when Daymond robbed a defender tocentre for Hawkins to score.

Bere scored two more from Will Westlake and a Hawkins penalty. Then they let Fowey back in again with two goals from defenders? howlers, to give Craig Howells no chance.

Bere?s Ben Rushall scored from a tight angle and Ross Hann scored, with Hawkins netting number ten.

This Saturday away to Altarnun, 2.30 kick off.
