HORSE racing enthusiasts enjoyed an exciting day of competition at the Cherrybrook Point to Point races on Sunday, April 3.
The hunt race was won by Dicky Bob, ridden by Jo Buck and entered by local trainer Verity Nicholls. Dicky Bob had already won five point to points last season.
The restricted race was won by Spillers Dream, ridden by Darren Edwards; his efforts build on a good run at Cothelstone early in March. In the mixed open, 2-5 favourite Jepeck from the Kayley Woollacott team won the race, following his two wins at Buckfastleigh and Charleton Horethorne earlier this season.
In the confined, the 4-7 favourite Robin de Souza, who had won five races out of five this season, was beaten to the post by Mic’s Delight, ridden by trainer and owner Jennifer Davenport.
Jo Buck rode another winner in the intermediate, this time taking It’s All or Nothing home to victory. The open maiden race closed the event, with victory going to joint favourite Vila Cova, ridden home by Matt Hampton.
