FARMERS in West Devon who are considering renewable energy options may be interested in a free seminar to be held in Exeter on April 22.
The Renewable Energy Farmers' seminar will be held at the Taverner's Farm, Lower Brenton, Kennford, Exeter, and will include three eminent industry specialists based within the West Country.
They will talk about the main issues to consider with on-farm wind, anaerobic digestion and photovoltaic systems.
It will touch on energy outputs, costs, availability of funding, siting, planning, installation, grid connection, commissioning, ongoing maintenance, their reliability as energy providers and the investment pay-back period.
Yvonne Harris, of chartered surveyors, valuers and rural business management specialists Peter Skinner and Associates Ltd and one of the organisers, says there is much interest in the rural community since the announcement by the Government that Feed-in Tariffs are to be introduced from April 10.'
Farmers will have an opportunity to ask questions during a question and answer session and over an informal buffet lunch.
The free seminar starts at 10.30 am and finishes with lunch. Numbers are limited. To reserve your place ring Peter Skinner and Associates on 01392 833 455 by Friday, April 16.
