A SUPERB £2,000 was raised at this year's Albaston Fete for four great causes, who each received £500 from the community fundraiser. Held last month at the village's Millennium Green it was the 30th anniversary of the popular event. The charity cheques were presented by the fete committee on Friday at the Queen's Head pub in Albaston. Receiving cheques were Jon Lambert on behalf of Calstock Cricket Club, Graham Parkinson for Derriford Children's Cancer Service, Hilary Fairhurst and Frances Bennett for Gunnislake School Breakfast Club along with Lorna Potter for Calstock Parish Archive.
