AN appeal has gone out for more people in West Devon to act as volunteer firefighters.

Chagford and Moretonhampstead fire stations are both in urgent need of retained firefighters available for calls during the daytime.

If extra firefighters are not found, crews and appliances from neighbouring stations will have to attend incidents in the area at certain times.

A recruitment session for anyone interested will be held on Wednesday January 25 at Chagford Fire Station at 7pm.
