A COMMUNITY-led initiative set up to consider all aspects of village life in Dolton parish is to hold an open day, and is encouraging residents to turn out and express their views.
The Dolton Vision Group is exploring ways to meet the needs and aspirations of the people of the parish, as highlighted in Dolton's Parish Plan and reviewed Action Plan.
The group wants to carefully consider all aspects of village life — from traffic and transport to housing, education, employment, tourism and leisure — both in the short and long term.
Public engagement has always been at the heart of the group, and following a successful open day last spring, a second event is being held on Saturday February 19 at Dolton and Dowland Village Hall, from 2pm until 5pm.
As well as offering a chance for the public to get involved, there will be a presentation by one of the county's leading experts of community land and property trusts. There will also be an informal discussion to see if the people of the parish would like to form their own trust to provide necessary infrastructure, services and amenities.
