A WEST Devon MBE recipient was presented with her award at a special celebration at the Bedford Hotel in Tavistock on Friday.

Ann McDonald is secretary for the Mary Budding Trust and helped to establish the charity in 2003. She was awarded her MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List back in June for her services to children with special needs.

She was a member of the former Tavistock and District Mencap Society and helped to set up the Mary Budding Trust, which supports children with special needs, aged eleven and under, who live in the area.

Mrs McDonald was joined by her family, friends and fellow Mary Budding trustees at the presentation of her award from the Lord Lieutenant of Devon David Fursdon.
