CHORISTERS from St Eustachius’ Church joined the choir of St Mary the Virgin Church, Ross-on-Wye, for Pentecost, on Sunday, May 15.
Besides singing at the morning service, Tavistock also sang a special evensong, under their director Dr Sean Sweeney.
The three day trip to the historic market town, near the Welsh border, was arranged through former choir member, Mrs Kate Barrett, who with husband Mark, lived in Tavistock for two and a half years. They returned to their former home near Ross last year and Kate is back with St Mary’s choir.
St Eustachius’ Choir was also joined by previous members Gill Smith and Lin Jenkins.
Their husbands, both named Ian, and former churchwardens at Tavistock, were among the 32-strong party.
Leading the services was St Mary’s vicar, the Rev Sarah Jones, and choir director Mark Sanderson conducted the morning singing.
Dr Sweeney said : ‘We were delighted to be able to sing at St Mary’s and we received a very warm welcome. Indeed, news of our success reached Tavistock long before we even returned!’
