ANOTHER year has gone by and I am seeing a lot more dogs in the Pannier Market where I have a stall.
Lots of the dogs are rescued, which is great. I am a volunteer for Margaret Green Animal Rescue and our re-homing centre is just outside Tavistock at Heathfield, Brentor.
On my stall in the Pannier Market I have a collection box and the latest magazine for people to take home and read about the work the rescue centre does and all the happy stories of the rescued animals who have been given a 'forever home'.
Lots of people stop and talk about their rescued dog or cat and from which rescued centre they have come from. It is so nice to see so many happy dogs.
Often the dog will come and say hello to me which is very nice.
Recently one of the staff of Margaret Green came into the pannier market with a rescue dog, who needs a new home. While we were chatting lots stopped to talk about the dog, and also gave us donations. Thank you.
Also a big thank you to all those who took the time and trouble to make a Christmas box for all the animals at Wingletang, they all had a lovely Christmas.
Over the past year, I have been fundraising for Margaret Green in Tavistock Pannier Market, and the grand total for 2013 was £383.20, made up of the following: book sale, £150; birthday and Christmas cards, £63.20; collection box, £170. Many thanks.
I am holding another book sale in the market every Friday until the end of March.
So please come and buy some books, also books gladly received.
Margaret Green Animal Rescue Centre at Brentor has lots of cats and dogs waiting for their forever home, so if you are thinking of giving a cat or dog this year, come along and view ours first.
Many thanks to you all.
