ANYONE organising an event is invited to call upon trained volunteers, the West Devon Rovers, to help. A pool of volunteers in West Devon has been trained to act as marshals and stewards for any large public event. These community-minded volunteers are available for hire to event organisers at reasonable rates covering training and admin costs. Some of the volunteers have received traffic management for closing roads for community events, as well as basic first aid training. This new venture, hosted by West Devon Community and Voluntary Services, has been generously supported by Devon County Council, West Devon Borough Council and Okehampton United Charity.
