Tavistock 1st XI v
Shobrooke Park 1st XI
TAVISTOCK lost the toss against league leaders Shobrooke Park. They were put in to bat for their first full match of the season and lost John McGahey in the fourth over. This brought Orin Roesstorff to the crease with John Walter for a partnership of 62, when Roesstorff was bowled by Collingford.
Walter was then caught off Collingford ten balls and one run later.
Tavistock were 82 for 3 with nearly 30 overs to go.
Colin Mortimore and Steve Luffman soldiered on until Luffman was caught behind (Collingford?s third victim).
David Manning joined Mortimore to steady the ship with a partnership of 79, taking the score to 184 for 5 when Mortimore (50) was caught off South African bowler S Lazarow.
Steve Nicholson joined Manning until he was bowled by Lazarow for 68. Andy Gauler and Nicholson added another 26 runs to take the final score to 250 for 6.
In reply Shobrooke struggled to score runs against good bowling and tight fielding. Orin Roesstorff took 5 for 38 off his 13 overs and Steve Luffman 2 for 23 off 10 overs, with economical bowling from the other four bowlers.
Shobrooke only managed to reach 126 for 9, giving Tavistock a winning draw.
