TAVISTOCK Young Farmers have unearthed a bumper crop of cash for their local community hospital.
Thanks to their efforts, Tavistock Hospital will benefit to the sum of £1,250 and the hospital will use the money to buy a reclining chair to make patients more comfortable while receiving blood transfusions.
The Tavistock YFC members raised money by holding a dung sale, carol singing and holding a curry and quiz night.
The sponsership was set up in 2014 by the TYFC outgoing committee of chairman Sabrina Doidge, treasurer Hanna Coles and secretary Emma Coles.
Sue Lake, secretary of the Tavistock League of Friends, said: 'We thank the young farmers — it is really satisfying that young people are involved in helping the community.'
