Get ready for a high-energy evening of live music as three of the town’s most exciting new bands Horce Divorse, The Recap, and The Cougar Catchers join forces for a special concert at Tavistock’s iconic Kings Venue on November 30. Hosted by Giggawatt Events, the night promises to showcase raw, local talent, with a mix of original songs and crowd-pleasing covers in a celebration of the area’s vibrant music scene.

Horce Divorse, known for their comedic punk rock sound, will bring their signature blend of humour and energy to the stage, with songs that explore the everyday struggles of life. Two members of the band are also music teachers at the Tavistock Youth Café's Zephyr Project, where they mentor the next generation of musicians.

Meanwhile, The Recap—a young band that grew out of the Zephyr Project—will deliver their dynamic mix of original music, marking their growing presence on the local music scene. The Cougar Catchers, from Gunnislake, will bring their party-ready rock set, including a setlist designed to get the crowd dancing, and feature a Zephyr Project music teacher as part of their lineup.

The event will be a true community collaboration, with Jack Lewis, owner of Giggawatt Events, teaming up with local photographers, sound engineers, and graphic designers—many of whom are veterans of the Youth Café. The event will be heavily promoted online and across town, with posters and updates appearing on social media and even at local bus stops. A local mobile pizza van will be on-site, ensuring concertgoers can grab a bite to eat during the event.

This special concert holds extra significance as it will take place at The Kings Venue, a beloved space in Tavistock’s cultural history. The venue’s legacy is thanks in part to the efforts of DJ Jeg, a key figure in the town’s music scene, and the support of the Kings’ owners, to whom the bands would like to extend their sincere thanks.

With a powerful lineup of young, local talent and a shared commitment to keeping the live music spirit alive, this event promises to breathe new life into a legendary venue and bring the community together in celebration of local creativity.
