It’s time to get into the festive spirit - and Devon is the perfect place to do so.

Find the perfect setting for your Christmas celebrations, with a traditional Christmas at Castle Drogo, a festive menu at The Rising Sun, or Christmas Day lunch at The Arundell.

Even on the wintriest Dartmoor day, there is plenty to keep the whole family entertained this Christmas at Castle Drogo. From the 14 foot Christmas tree in the hall, to red tulips in the staircase. The castle will be decorated for a traditional Drewe family Christmas, with trees, garlands and twinkly lights. Look out for the 13 naughty elves hiding around the castle, learn to play a Christmas carol on the hand bells or dance in the corridor with Mr and Mrs Raynor. There will be local musicians in the Drawing Room, storytelling in the Library and the occasional visit from a certain very busy man in red! Keep an eye on the Castle Drogo social media to find out what’s on when. Outside you can hunt for Father Christmas's reindeer hiding around the grounds and take a gentle stroll through the gardens. If you are feeling more energetic there are miles of wintery walks through the Teign Gorge. The café and shop are open throughout December and are the perfect place to warm up, refuel and do some Christmas shopping.

Christmas Day lunch at the Arundell is truly special. Roaring log fires, a lovely glass of fizz in the sitting room on arrival, beautiful fairy lights and Christmas decorations and our delicious three course lunch. Bookings have filled up fast, but we still have tables available in the bar, which is dog-friendly and a wonderful cosy place to spend Christmas.

Starting from December 1 2024 our delicious two or three course festive menu is available for lunch and dinner and will be served in the restaurant. Pre booking only and no minimum group size.

The Rising Sun has revealed its delicious Christmas menu, offering a three course meal for £65 per person.

There are options for meat-lovers and vegetarians alike, with starters including a spiced lentil & butternut squash soup, chicken paté, and prawn cocktail.

Moving on to the main meal, as well as traditional Christmas offerings such as turkey and nut roast, the restaurant is catering for every taste, with other main dishes including beef, gammon and beetroot & squash wellington.

And if you’re still feeling peckish after that, feed your sweet tooth with a choice of a Christmas cake, Christmas pudding, a trifle or a gingerbread cheesecake.

The Rising Sun Inn is a 17th century public house and restaurant with stunning views over the Tamar valley! The inn serves popular ales, cider and much more, and is a dog friendly pub.
